Due to our attachment to the Nowy Sacz region, we also encourage and support the tradition and preservation of the local folklore through the sponsorship of an amateur folklore group called "Dolina Dunajca" ("Dunajec River Valley"). "Dolina Dunajca", Song and Dance Group, was established in 1969 when it united the lovers of folklore from the Lacko and Nowy Sacz region. "Dolina Dunajca" incorporates in its repertoire both the folklore music and traditional dances and portrays, through its art, the beauty of the region. The increasing popularity of the Group throughout the years has led to the creation of new and more complex programs that helped the Group to achieve national success and later international recognition. The people of countries such as: Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, former Yugoslavia, Russia, Finland, Greece, and even Libya, USA, and Israel had a chance to see the performances of "Dolina Dunajca" which were met with warm applause. "Dolina Dunajca" has done many recordings for the radio and national television in Poland, and it also, amongst other awards, has won Golden and Silver Hatchet- the highest trophy, and the most prestigious, awarded at the International Folklore Festival of Mountain Terrain in Zakopane, Poland.
